Could you imagine the number of welfare dependent, growing up to be democrat voting babies born every day if abortion was illegal????
If you’ve heard of Freakonomics, you know this one. In 1994, when the crime rate started to drop, a child born in 1973 was 21 — and a child who wasn’t born in 1973, because the mother got a newly legal abortion after Roe v. Wade, was one fewer 21-year-old in the population. It’s a very appealing argument to people who hate obvious answers. It’s also, interestingly, one of the few theories on this list with strong empirical support from other countries: Studies as far away as Romania have found the same effect.

A better question is should a woman marry a man who encouraged a partner to have one. Abortion isn't always happening in a vacuum without the knowledge of men. Sometimes it is but let's not pretend that men haven't benefitted by having a partner abort.
Handsome Pete-I would love to read more about this. Sociology things like this fascinate me. Could you point me in the direction of where to look. I searched Freakonomics abortion and crime rate but didn't find it.

I read Super Freakonomics awhile back, it pretty much explains how all the shite we are told about in terms of "global warming" is bullshite. Humans and all the shite we have created only make up 2% of the emissions, the rest is created naturally and in order for us to even put a dent in that 2% it would require every country to get on board, etc.. Otherwise, its all bullshite, but year crime, at one point, use to be worse than it is today, with a smaller population.

quote:Why then is crime back up since 2014? 1994 was also the year the crime bill was passed. Now that that's looked at as a bad thing and sentencing is more lax, crime is rising.
