Specifically Paris. Worry is post Olympics people are going to look for a trip and drive up fares
Lots of seats on flights, do I hold off and Hope availability stays?
/note, there is a good United Economy Plus Fair open that I am tracking.

I would think Paris would dip after the Olympics but I doubt anyone has tracked post Olympic trends. And it would not be useful since Paris is Paris.
Book when you feel comfortable with the price. Would stressing for 3 months be worth $50 savings?

If you have a fare you're happy with go ahead and book it, but the general rule is 3-4 months before the flight.

I play this game a lot. Hard to time the bottom on big trips like this.
Once the fare gets to a number I'm comfortable with, I book it and never check again.
One time in the past there was a great rate and I wasn't quite ready to pull the trigger so I bought a 5 day hold with United and it turned out to be a plus. Fare went up $150 per ticket within that timeframe and I was able to book my original fare.
