Buddy, you realize Tee Higgins is likely moving on?
as cool it would be for Thomas to play along opposite of Chase, they need more O-Line Help, because the money they’ve spent in the trenches hasn’t worked. Your Franchise QB is way more valuable than a WR who you could draft in the middle rounds that would give you similar production.

I think you pay for a couple of proven vets that are solid, but not demanding elite OL type money, and then draft BTJ.

I feel like a WR being good is a better bet in the draft than an OL and can contribute at a high level sooner. But what do I know.

The Bengals absolutely need OL help. But I don't think they will reach for OL out of need if they don't have a guy available they really like over players at other positions they do. Burrow just got a big contract. They know Chase is in line for one soon. They would like to keep Higgins, but I'm sure he wants a big deal too. The realities of the NFL are that you have to be selective with who you give the big contracts to. That means you have to be able to "hit" on guys that can give big production on cheap, rookie deals.

Then you throw in the fact the Bengals probably have a pretty high opinion of LSU players at the moment. Just like the Saints with Ohio State and Philly with Georgia, sometimes a franchise feels a bit more trust with players from a certain school. Given the last two LSU players selected by the Bengals in the first round were MASSIVE hits, I wouldn't be shocked to see them go back to the well. It's not like they don't want Higgins. They just can't pay him as much as others. BTJ could be that cheap replacement.
