I really do not understand why these teams are so hellbent on always helping the Lakers. No one should want to deal with them at all unless its absolute trade rape. But they just bail them out every year

It does always seem that they’re bailed out but it’s probably more just that Lakers actually are willing to pull the trigger on a trade often. Most teams sit on assets and are afraid. Lakers make a pretty big trade every deadline. In a league of conservative GMs, Lakers are the most active.

There's definitely truth to this.

Teams could have easily outbid the Lakers on a couple of those dudes last season, they chose not to.

San Antonio could have offered Austin Reaves 4 years/$95 mil just to make the Lakers match, but they chose not to.

Teams can easily outbid a 1st and a swap for Dejounte Murray. We'll see if they choose not to.

The Lakers are also willing to not participate in the NBA draft until 2044 to prop up the LeBron window. It's like Stepien era Cavs over there.
