Otherwise, China could tell their people to lock themselves inside of their (ultimately government owned) houses and that’s that. I have stated this previously, the CCP may not see economic collapse as a negative. It would crush their “middle class,” meaning repossession of millions of homes (at that point…government property), and a slew of desperate people that are, once again, a veritable source of slave labor.
And what, exactly, would be the benefits to this plan?
China has invested hundreds of billions of dollars and stolen IP for years to develop a more modern economy that doesn't rely on population-based low-margin output, so their master plan is to...destroy the portion of their economy that is somewhat advanced to double down on population-based low-margin output...as their population is about to decline exponentially?
Explain this to me.

Not what I said.

I would say that automation will become a much greater factor. In the short term, people will be put to work in the transition.
I also would suggest that the military is about to grow in size quite a bit.
Lastly, I could foresee agriculture being enhanced via forced labor camps for dissidents.
The whole scenario is extreme.
My point is that China is the one country that could probably weather things with the least interruption.
Oh, another thing, a devastated Europe and an America in turmoil would be an added bonuses for the CCP.
