re: Who’s got some dealership service stories?

I had an exhaust leak in a Mazda, and took it to the old Royal Mazda in Metairie. Estimate was around $160. I left the car with them.

Service manager calls late the same day and says 4 of 5 bolts broke when removing the exhaust manifold, so the repairs will be $750.

I went there and asked to speak with the mechanic who worked on the car. The mechanic told me 1 of 5 bolts broke, not 4 of 5.

Price came down to less than $300.
