I started when it released last night and have played quite a bit today. Feels very comfortable if you will. I don’t think I realized how much I’ve been wanting a game like this to come out till I started playing it

I second this. Downloaded it the other day when I was iced in and have been thoroughly impressed. The combat and platforming are surprisingly deep.
Being able to take a screen shot in game and tag it your map where it was taken is top notch. More games should have this feature.

this game needs more attention ... Says me who is just now picking it up lol.
I've never been a big metroidvania / 2D platformer in my adult age. Obviously played a lot of it growing up with the NES/SNES, but once 3D games hit the ground running I left the 2D stuff behind. Starting to get into them though having just played the first hollow knight. Since then I've been dabbling in Blasphemous, Dead Cells, and now The Lost Crown. The Last Crown grabbed my attention the quickest of those 3 so I'll stick with it until I finish before moving on to one of the others.
This game is fricking great and the puzzles/platforming/combat is very deep and challenging but not frustratingly so. I have been stuck for a bit in the Sacred Archives and haven't been able to get through a few areas, so I finally looked up what I need to do and apparently I need to go back to the sewers/depths to get something. I ventured in there and noped out real quick after I was getting manhandled by some poison bugs.

The Backlogs was highly complimentary of it a few months ago. Haven’t picked it up yet, though.

So they put out another new Prince of Persia game a few months ago called “the rogue prince of Persia” that is good also. Takes the metroidvania style of the lost crown but adds a roguelite spin on it. Makes the game play much more like Dead Cells.
