My wife and I stopped in and ate at some brewpub for lunch that was right there on the Tennessee River on our way to Charlottesville, VA, once some years ago. It was just lunch, so we ate light, so I can’t speak for a dinner menu. Let me look and see if I can find the name. Good beer selection, as well as burgers, salads, and tacos at the time.

ETA: looks like it may now be “Scottie’s On The River”. So I guess just ignore the above recommendation.

I think the Travel board had a thread on this in the last few weeks.

If you are a fan of southern/soul food, Bea’s Restaurant is an iconic place to go. Literally the best fried chicken in the world, in my opinion!

No worries, their menu looks good enough to give it a shot. Thanks!

Clyde’s on Main

Mayan Kitchen isn’t bad

Southside Social for cheap bar food that’s decent and you can bowl if you want.

Sugar’s ribs is really good for anytime lunch or dinner.
Boccaccia for Italian is good downtown dinner
Aleia probably one of my favorites downtown
Mezcal and little coyote get high marks as well from everyone I know.
Champys fried chicken is awesome
For pubs and chill places- taco mama, hair of the dog, and pizza bros on broad.
