The behind the scenes stuff at Bama can be quite challenging to deal with. Tons of boosters and so on that want access and are giving constant pressure.
The fans and media coverage there is also intense.

If Saban does hang around, I bet the majority of his time will be dealing with all this bullshite so DeBoer doesn't have to. He'll wrangle the boosters and allow DeBoer to focus as much on just coaching as he possibly can. At least until he's got a handle on it and has made the program his own.
If there's any "copium" being sucked down, I'm afraid it's more the non-Bama SEC fans. This is a really, really good hire.
