There is a difference between disadvantages that can be overcome and those that can't. You wouldn't say a crippled kid didn't make it to the NBA because he didn't work hard enough would you?

Now like I said originally, you also wouldn't say the crippled kid is the GOAT even if he set records in the crippled Olympics in wheelchair basketball. But you shouldn't deny that the kid is great just because he didn't make the NBA.

No one suggested that. The point is that the statement: He would have been the GOAT NBA player had he not been crippled is foolish. You tried to turn that into an accusation that the kid had no intrinsic value at all. That was not asserted nor implied.
