I've rented with Adobe before and it was fine. I highly recommend getting the overpriced supplemental insurance so there aren't any issues when you return it.

I may be misremembering, but I think it's required, regardless of any insurance you already have from a Cc or elsewhere.

This. At the time I purchased it I was like wtf did I just pay all that money for. After driving in the mountains in a moonsoon I barely ran into the back of a local and had very little damage(paid the local $300 cash to forget about it, he did ) to our rental. Between the locals on those mopeds and some of the roads are traitorous especially during rainy season. Loved our trip but the chances of getting in some type of accident or damaging a rental in costa rica are pretty high I would think. We turned in the rental with a slight bulge in the bumper and have never heard back so I guess the extra insurance took care of it.
