Nope.
They have been spotted all over the state.
The Arkansas game and fish commission said in 2009 that mountain lions didn't exist in Arkansas.
That was proven false.
As more have have been seen since that announcement, the more they are downplayed by the Arkansas game and fish commission.

I hiked the Eagle Rock Loop in November. Great area of the state. Easily the most beautiful outdoors area within reasonable driving distance of SELA.

We had either a mountain lion or a bobcat leave really big prints in the snow on our deck a couple of years ago. Happy to have never actually seen it. They try to avoid humans.

They've been spotted all over Mississippi too. I watched a man storm out at Bass Pro once because the employee laughed at him when he said he needed a trail cam to get pictures of a family of squatches living on his property.
