What is Hankton looking for? Is he going to be offered an OC position? You are currently in charge of the leading university for WRs in the NFL since dating back almost a decade. I'd be interested to hear this story. I have no qualms about Hankton wanting to run an offense. However, I want to understand why he would be shopping himself when his talent pool in this state is better than any in the country from a WR perspective. That is unless he is getting OC offers.
It’s a weird spot for hankton IF he truly has aspirations of being an OC.
We are compensating him very well and I’m sure will get a raise with a Co-OC. With that said if he really wants the whole enchilada he has to take a paycut to go to a smaller school to be an OC and call plays.
As it is he has the opportunity to “be home” make a lot of money BUT basically have your job security dependent on someone else (presumably Sloan would be the play caller) AND put off any dreams of a high level non “co” OC job for a few years. If lifetime position coach/associate head coach is his goal then jump on it. Nothing wrong with that. Frank Wilson has made a hell of a living essentially doing that
Not gonna blame him for taking a little time to think and see his options

If he wants to be a full-on OC, he's going to have to drop down, possibly to 1AA, and prove himself.
Recruiter-first positional coaches are a super risky hire for coordinator positions. Usually it takes a few promotion-demotion cycles for them to get settled in and succeed (if they ever can. Many are like O and not coordinator material).
