If you grow up an Air Force military brat, you’ve seen everything in the air as being normal, then you experience the other side. Standing in my Latin American Regional Sales Managers office, discussing business in Argentina..
Looking out and suddenly two F-16’s in wingman formation flying low, bank on a turn for St Pete/Clearwater airport. To me, it’s normal, touch and go at a light traffic airport. This guy, from Venezuela goes nuts “What’s wrong?” “ Just touch and go”
I had to get him in the car and drive one mile to sit outside the fence and watch these guys play for about 30 minutes.
Next month I’ll take you to Central Command for the air show and you can touch them. He was like a little kid. He explained that when the jets were flying in Venezuela there a coup taking place. That’s the way they grew up. I explained that could go to parking lots and watch jets all day long.

It still surprises me how people freak out over hearing a sonic boom. I guess it's understandable, but hearing them was common for us growing up.
