A portion of the rant thinks it's all good for college football. Player empowerment, no rules, no regulations, wild west.

You can’t come up with any logical reason to not allow it other than for selfish reasons which are not logical or legitimate.

This is pure capitalism at its finest.

The players are a commodity. They make money for these schools. People are willing to pay them to attend those schools because of the return they get.

You think you should be telling people how much they can or can’t make or telling people how and where to spend their money? How communist is of you.

This not good for college football. You need some sort of contractual relationship. The NFL has issues but as of now it’s a lot better than college football. If star players are under contract at least the team has some stability. They know when the contracts up and they have a chance of losing a player. This is pure madness. No commitment on the players part. It was one thing when players were receiving no significant compensation, but this is basically becoming another NFL with no contracts.

We been steadily been moving this direction with banks and the rest of the economy for 50 years — why not college football right?

I don’t know about that. There are those among us who believe it is the fair thing to do, though. For decades kids have been sacrificing their time and health so that fat slob fans can enjoy themselves and fat cat coaches, universities and media can make money. That isn’t right.

At the same time we realize that, for all of the aforementioned fatties, the good old days are gone.

Professional sports has no place in college.
Send them all to farm leagues
