You never know on transfer portals.
Burrow couldn't win the job at Ohio State and he is a legend here.
A few years ago we got some receiver from Texas Tech , thought highly of him and gave him #7 , that didn't pan out.
It's how the player responds to new environment and coaching staff.

He didn't crack the starting rotation at Auburn. Only reason a few folks are excited is his dad.

Complete opposite. People have been dumping on him since his recruitment because of his dad. A ton of idiots saying LSU should get rid of him if he can’t get his son to come here. Why would anyone be excited over who his dad is? The reason for any excitement is he was listed as a 4 star DB by some services out of high school and a Louisiana player we would usually get.
I personally don’t care about his lack of playing time at Auburn. He was a redshirt freshman this year and was by no means a starter as a freshman type coming out of high school. He still has plenty time to contribute and is a good prospect. If he’s a starter his junior year that’s a win.

I'd stay away from judging incoming players based on the reactions of the people that post here.
