Thru dat - I have often said that we should set the 'age of adulthood' to 26. That is what the brainiacs decided was the amount of time they could suck off their parents wrt insurance etc.

I'd say actual 'adulthood' akin to what was expected of 'adults' back in pre-depression era would be closer to 35.

I do not think anyone who is not a 'true' adult should be allowed to participate in any decision making process that had any direct effect on the way the government operates - yes, election and public service jobs.

And at the moment, that age of 26 would be marginal.

At the very minimum we need to tighten up who is eligible to vote, and enact absolute control over the election process from beginning to end - which means to complete do away with most of the bullshite built into the current system - it has been allowed to become more and more liable for fraud for the entire history of our country, but in the last decade there has been a dedicated, now open, assault on any and all election safeguards.

= rigorous re-constitution of all voting registration rolls.
= one day voting - federal holiday - from 8pm one day to 8pm the following day.
= in person only ID required - no exceptions. "forget your id" = go back and find it.
= 20 year prison sentence for any voter fraud adjudicated.
= paper ballots only - no do-overs - get it right or don't get counted. (be serious when voting)
= initiate counting immediately in monitored area, nothing released until all complete.
= maintain ballots under secured control for 10 years
= etc
