I tell people until Im blue in the face - our alma maters aren't what they were 20+ years ago and the college decision is way more important for our kids than it used to be.

Here's the SEC. Purple isn't safe anymore. And Missouri is a cess pool. Columbia, MO is the 9th most liberal city in the U.S.

Source for that graph? We're about to move to Miss and I'd like to look into why Ole Miss is so red. The wife and I are lukewarm on promoting college to our 11 year old.

there are plenty of conservative colleges you can send your kids to if youre scared of someone interacting with your child of a different political affiliation than you

I'll say this about Vandy: yes, it's a leftist campus, but they don't suppress other views. They have (or at least had) one of the more high profile tenured professors who would regularly speak out against Islam and her job was never in question; no pressure, no apologetic statements from the school. My daughter came out intact as did several of her close friends. They don't (unless it's started recently) do cancel culture or shout down opposing viewpoints.
