What position do I play?
How smart am I?

I would first choose schools that actually compete, then would base my decisions as follows:

Best shot to the pros-USC (you look like an NFLer every play bc they play noone, and while the combine is important, so is hype)

Academia- Texas

College Town- UGA

Chicks- LSU/Ole Miss/ Vandy (but this is a debate for another day)

Fans- LSU (hands down)

National Championships- LSU, UF

Culture- LSU (though i doubt any real recruit looks at this)

All this factored in, personally I would stay close to home to be near family

Given my ship sailed long ago, I would guess that my advice would be similar to what I would tell my son:

1. USC (Seems to be a nice tight group out there, with PC having a great program, great position coaches, and national exposure)

2. Texas (Mack Brown, the chance to whip Bob Stoops arse, solid academics, great college experience)

3. Penn State (my boy is a linebacker)

Bama, UNC, LSU, Ole Miss, Va Tech would get the remainder unofficial/official visits.

It doesn't matter. If you are stud, you can go to mcneese or u.s.c., you will be drafted. plain and simple. Just as many pro's come from small no name schools at they do big time. if your good, your good.

wow, you're stupid. what about the guys who aren't STUDS. what about the guys who would just make solid nfl players, not necessarily being a franchise player. i realize that the topic of the thread involces being a top-flight prospect, but come on...you're saying that if one chose to go to say... Morehead State that they have the same exact chance of getting to the NFL if they go to somewhere like USC or LSU.
know why these people like T.O. and Romo are such surprises? because they are rare, and they got little to no exposure at their university of choice.

1.Ohio State- meeting the Buck fans in person last year helped this pick. Football Factory.

2.Nebraska- They were cherry picking guys from SOLA when I was coming up, tradition rich football factory.

3.Alabama- If I couldn't go to LSU for whatever reason, i'd have to take a chance on playing in Tiger Stadium, Jordan-Hare, The Swamp, and Between the Hedges. Bama has what my other two choices have, too. Second favorite SEC team anyway... still hate 'em ,in a loving way.

The No Way List:

1.Texas- The fans of the school in general.

2.Any other Pac10 school other than USC.

3.The basketball schools in the ACC.

Taking off the P&G glasses ect my top 5 would be:

LSU
UF
UT
UGA
OU

Wouldn't matter what position every one of the above schools have produced great players at all positions over the years. FWIW if I didn't get these big time offers I would gun for Tulane for the eduaction.

Is this a joke?

Ive been to Austin several times and have plenty of friends who went there and I can tell you the "College Experience" or whatever the hell you're talking about, In no way compares to LSU

Apparently, a much higher rated institution of academic excellence means little to you and your friends.

Texas - 16th in the country

LSU - 67th

Can you explain that a little more? The college experience not comparing?
