Fairly certain Ja Morant can shoot someone in the face and still get a foul called for him

The guy literally puts his head down and rams into guys every play and the refs can’t wait to call a foul to put him at the line. Zion does that same move and it’s an offensive foul every time.

The phantom foul call with 1.5 seconds screwed us even though we won the toss.

Herb grabbed the rebound, so I'm not even sure why we had to jump it up, they usually go by whoever grabbed possession.

It’s all rigged. That game should have been over at end of regulation but the refs had to figure a way to get Memphis to the line.

Sooo rigged that Willie met with the refs, put in dumb lineups and purposely lost a double digit lead going into the fourth.

That’s not why Pels lost. You had to know that play was coming. Take your chances with a touch and shoot jumpshot with .4 seconds left. Can’t have stone feet Jonas 1 on 1 at the rim against a far superior player at the rim in JJ. Pels choked away another lead with horrendous offense and missed free throws.

That foul isn’t called on any reasonably sized market team as the league would get destroyed in the talk shows all day tomorrow. That is where the corruption is at. It was a bull shite call that was predetermined by the ref.

Not arguing that the call was correct. I’m arguing that the Pels never should have been in that situation. If Morant makes a shot he makes 9 times out of 10, we would have lost just the same way as last game with them. That was the worst 10 minutes of offensive play I can ever remember seeing. Having to throw shots up or just turn it over because they didn’t have any offensive structure. No one wants to take a shot when they finally get a look, so they just kick it out for a worse shot or turnover. Cant make free throws, etc.

You really think that was a foul by Jonas? AD was right that was a 50/50 ball with 2 big men going for it. Jaren Jackson fouled just as much as Jonas did on that play. Personally that’s just big men getting position and they should have let them play ball. All it was going to take was for Jonas to breathe on Jackson and the ref already had decided he was going to blow the whistle. I don’t mind the refs making ridiculous calls but at least make ridiculous calls both ways.

I wouldn’t doubt the ref predetermined that call because of the overrule on the previous Ja call. I mean as subjective as officiating is all they have to do is say the smallest illegal contact is there to be some sort of foul. This is regardless if it is consistent with the league or in the same game.

Using Ja and Jackson standards then Zion should just walk to th ft line every time he touches the ball.

You misunderstood. I don’t think it was a foul, and there wasn’t a foul on Morant either, even after the shot. I also don’t believe that the ref on the baseline didn’t see that foot clearly over the line, which allowed a three point shot. I just am focusing on the Pels piss poor offense for a very long period of time that made it all possible. Just like the previous 2 losses at home.

Yes the fact that they couldn’t figure out that they were trapping BI every time at the end and to get set into their offense around someone else was terrible. The overall ball movement on offense was horrendous tonight and the FT shooting is beyond ridiculous now. This has been an issue all season and it seems to only get worse. I wouldn’t mind Zion shooting 60-65% at the line if he got the calls he should because he would be shooting double or triple the amount free throws. It takes actual assault and battery on Zion for him to get a call.

I could not believe that they said after replay they could not see clear possession. How much clearer could hit have been? They then got what they wanted when they came up with another questionable call on the desperation lob with 0.0 on the clock.

The other funny thing is about the only reason I could come up with is because Herb didn't grab the rebound outright in the air, it bounced to the ground...but that only happened because Smart raked him across the arm.

But it was Herb's ball the entire way very obviously.

Agree 1000%. Those same 2 bogus calls under 1.5 seconds get called against the Lakers and it is the top story on every media outlet this morning. However, they can control games with small market teams and no one in the media cares. That is what happens when major sports get in bed with Vegas.
