Kind of an ironic statement since you’re using D2 wins to bolster Kelly’s totals. On the D1 level he’s 4th among active coaches, Saban is over 100 wins ahead of him.

So you’re saying college coaches get categorized on their wins/losses in D1 & D2 columns?

Should D2 wins not count? If anything, a successful track record in the lower divisions reflects even better on coaching ability when you consider the lack of resources at that level. Look at guys like Fritz, Leipold, and Cignetti, too.

Saban has also coached 7 more seasons in FBS than Kelly has.
