The industry thought process is that dealerships will be gone in ten years... They will be showrooms and repair centers, but won't be selling you a car. You will buy direct from the manufacturer. Too many dealerships add ridiculous mark-ups that are hurting the manufacturers bottom line.

Elon Musk -despite being a total piece of shite with his social media shenanigans- had this 100% right when it comes to Tesla and eliminating car $tealerships .

ten years? can we just start this now? id much prefer walking into a showroom, see what i like in person then ordering a more customized version direct.

I like to physically see the car, sit in it, check out where the blind spots are and how complicated the electronics are.

If Car Max sold new ones, it would be perfect with no hungry sales people shoving cards in your pocket.

I also like the no haggle idea.

When people have to start dealing directly with the greedy assed mega corporations, yeah, sure, will be a ton easier and cheaper, simpler, more transparent………..people just think dealerships are out to get them.
