….that being in the pro’s will stop being the dream of teenage athletes? With what kids have the ability to earn in college, 5 years could set you up for life.
Some highly rated prospects might see the college life as the peak and just coast through life from there.
Less wear and tear on the body. Maybe start coaching early if you want to still be a part of game.
How popular would an all-American one year be to be coached by the next? Even at the high school level.
A coaches salary would be fine with the bankroll you generated in college.

So you're saying that elite athletes are going to view making a couple of million in college as preferable to earning a couple hundred million in the pros? That an athlete who trains to be among the best in his craft will be satisfied to not see that potential maxed out at the professional level? The mindset that most top athletes have is incongruent with what you're suggesting.

If you’re talented enough to pull in a million dollars or more in college, you will probably be in a position to earn a lot more in the pros.

I believe the numbers being thrown out are nonsense. Some top guys like Caleb Williams can do really well, but the majority will not.

You just need to look at the top in-state prospects for every state during any given year. Do they go to the top in-state schools or the program that gives them the best chance to make it to the pros? With few exceptions, it’s always the latter.

Sure, if they quit paying them multi-millions to play a game.

I think it’s much more likely we see college athletes become employees of the universities and lose eligibility restrictions.

I believe NIL numbers are extremely overinflated. The NFL numbers speak for themselves and I just refuse to believe that collectives can compete with a pro organization
