That’s America in general. We’re a country of media-trained sheep. They probably look at their MLS team and other lower leagues like MLS was the Saints and lower leagues were the NOLA VooDoo

And if you don’t have MLS, you just don’t have a team. About Birmingham, well Alabama and Auburn are their “pro” teams playing more consequential games than the G-League or USL or AA baseball ever could.

Though let’s be fair, it’s mostly older and poorer fans who are (Saints/NFL or nothing). Younger people who are now the millennials who love soccer never thought like that because they were more exposed to it. If you were a 10 year old who liked MLS in 2000, you’re now 33 making money who’s seen it become a far better product
