The authorities have been notified!

That's a nice catch. It would be wild if a criminal was "smart" enough to put on some fake tattoos.
Hopefully someone can identify this guy.

Soooo there is a back story that isn’t being discussed due to some legal issues. I’ll give yall the short version and you can decide.
This dog was surrendered to a rescue due to the original owners stating that they could not care for it properly. They are in their 80s. They willingly gave the dog away to the girl in the story. The rescue facilitated. Months later the old couple started demanding that they get their dog back and tried to sue for “custody”. Rescues don’t work that way.
They go to court and it eventually gets settled with the old couple agreeing to pay the girls court costs. They paid her lawyer 3 days before the Friday it got stolen……..
The air tag was found 4 minutes from the old couples address.

So an 80 year old couple hired a gang member to steal their dog back?
You have the Facebook link?

No I have first hand knowledge. People are starting to put it together tho. But police didn’t even pull fingerprints so frustration is starting to build.

I have a hard time believing an old couple would hire this dude. I’m sure it’s a small town so the 4 minutes thing is probably not all that relevant
Unless the dog is at their house it doesn’t make sense

Trust me I have a hard time believing it as well but knowing what has happened the last few months all signs point to their involvement in some way shape or form. She has 2 sheep dogs. They knew which one to grab.

It could be a family member, or family friend's son or something.

Apparently the 80 year old couple did rescue a pit bull from the pound so this dog is not out of the woods yet. The old couple might be training their pit bull rescue for dog fighting.
This story just keeps getting stranger and stranger.

I saw multiple people asking about fingerprints in the Facebook comments. "Dusting for fingerprints" is mostly bullshite and doesn't work like in crime shows. Especially for something like a doorknob that would've had multiple people touching it every day.
With that said, the backstory to this makes it more interesting.
ETA: give me these old folks' names and I'll have tattoo boy doxxed by dinner

I like this story a lot better than the poor thing being ripped up by fighting dogs. Hope it's true.

That’s a fair point about a relative of the old people. frick them though if that’s the case. You surrender your dog to what is probably a kill shelter, you shouldn’t seek to reclaim ownership from someone who saved it

In the past, dog theft has been linked to laboratory testing when a lab pays a fee for healthy dogs.

I’d love to blast it everywhere but they’ve already proved they are willing to file baseless lawsuits. I ain’t got time for that.

Someone breaks in to my house and approaches my older dog with a leash, she will just think “hey, bonus walk, let’s go.”
My younger dog would have none of that, it’d be war.

Silver Hill and Robertsdale are both pretty small communities and that's a really recognizable tat. This won't take long to figure out, someone will rat him out.

The only thing that doesn’t make sense is that the original post was made on 12/8, and just said the dog was missing because it had gotten out. Several edits were made to the post over the next few days, and it wasn’t until yesterday (12/13), that it was “confirmed” that the dog was stolen after “the footage was received.” They obviously had a doorbell camera so why did it take so long to figure out someone stole the dog?
Posted on 12/14/23 at 3:03 pm to CaptSpaulding
Police asked them to keep it as “missing”. They only gave them the go ahead to post footage and change to stolen yesterday.
