When a kid has all the size, strength and speed to dominate in high school ball, but doesn't give the effort to do so, it's typically pretty difficult to coach that lack of effort out of him.

The kid should WANT to absolutely destroy everyone he faces. He should be foaming at the mouth on Friday nights! There's something missing if he doesn't feel that way. We've seen it before in players, and it seldom ends well.

If he's indeed taking off lots of plays, that attitude adjustment better kick in the second he signs the papers, or he's gonna get thrashed by guys who are hungry and DO want to dominate.

100% agree! Either you have that killer(dog) instinct or you don’t! Eric Andolsek was a gentle giant off the field with in reason of course, but when he put that helmet on he wanted to destroy you! Every play, not just some! You can’t teach that!
