No. Like everything else, it looks worse because we see it on video, but that shite has been going on forever. My dad has told me countless stories of shite they did in HS. I'm sure some are, but on avg I would say absolutely not.

The public high schools where I grew up in the 1990s was notorious for violence, gang activities, and academic failure.
I don't think it's more severe today, but it is more widespread. Meaning there are more bad neighborhoods, thus there are more shitty high schools like that now. And of course more cameras and social media to document all the ratchet shite going down.

There's more videos and social media today for sure, so we hear about it more. Also we have Karens who constantly whine about it.
But... in reality...
1) We had fights but they were between two kids, at lunch, outside. We never had fights in the middle of class.
2) Bro A would fight Bro B, the end. Now, Bro A is trying to take a leak and Bro B and 8 of his boys attack Bro A in the bathroom.
3) Plenty adults act like pricks online / social media but know better than to try that in real life. These kids don't understand the difference, they act "hard" online then act "hard" in the schools.
4) We never had the number of girls attacking each other that we have today. I dare say if the total number of fights are higher, 100 percent of the increase is attributable to girls.

There’s def more lawlessness in schools these days thanks to all the shitty parents out there.
