Also if Trump stated he wanted this to be heard by the SC ASAP, this thread's responses would look a lot different.

I reject the idea that because the defendant could prevail, it justifies the prosecution playing games with the timeline of the case in an attempt to harm the defendant outside of the courtroom.
The DOJ sat on this for 3 years in order to time it with the election. And, now that it looks like there won't be time prior to the election, they want to play games with the timeline again.
