The product on the court is bad, but it the total lack of caring by the LSU athletic department that just pisses me off.
During the North Florida game the lights over the court were off until about 5 minutes into the game. There were no stats on the scoreboard until midway through the 1st half. Then once they turned the stats on they put up stats from the previous women’s game. A couple minutes later they finally got the current game stats on.
For the Kansas St. game Mike the Tiger was nowhere to be found. This was at least the 2nd game this year with no Mike the Tiger. There was a family sitting near me whose kids were looking for Mike the whole game and were pretty aggravated that he wasn't there. People may not think its important but its a big deal to families with kids.
Basically no promotions this year. I think they did a 1st 100 students get a free t-shirt game. That brought in about 25 students. They did an after the game meet the players and poster signing. Usually this is meant for kids, but they did this for an 8:00 game. Very few people stayed after. No other promotions.
When the product on the court is as bad as it is, you have to do something to generate at least some interest. In the Johnny Jones days some people would go to games just to get a Cousin Eddie hat, a mike the tiger snow globe, or other random stuff you could only get at a game. And now they can’t even have Mike the Tiger attend every game. The one thing LSU basketball has going for it is kid interest. Kids love going to games. Start losing them and you lose about half the people who are normally there.
I won’t get into the condition of the PMAC because they won’t start caring about it until someone trips down the uneven lower level stairs, gets seriously hurt and sues the hell out of LSU. It’s just a matter of time before that happens.
LSU basketball needs to stop being an afterthought of the athletic department.

LSU MBB is a laughing stock of the SEC. Needs a major change ASAP.

Maybe they can sell discounted tickets just to the halftime show. What is the date for quick change?

Bob Petit, Pete Maravich, Shaquille O'Neal, Chris Jackson, and others would say that roundball matters. It's a crying shame what has happened to LSU basketball. Scott Woodward has made some good hires. He needs to do it for basketball. His first attempt was big whiff! I love LSU and just want to see us be competitive in ALL sports.

If you can play dirty like the rest of them (Dale, Brady, Pear); LSU basketball is a gold mine.
The fact that NIL is here to stay; there is absolutely no reason why LSU basketball is in the tank.

Y'all need to relax. On paper it was decent hire for a dogshit situation
Woodward will fix it. Chill out

When is Scott Woodward going to fix the problem ? Three years from now ?

Who says he is going to wait 3 years? I mean, if he does and the program is still in the shitter, he needs to answer for it, but projecting he will do that as of today is silly.
To the OP's point, not promoting MBB is a real issue that needs to be corrected ASAP.

Fatward killed the program when he didn't support wade.

Unfortunately, no big-name coach with skins will ever take this job.
I'll always watch and support the program. But man, this is some depressing shite trying to to watch the product on the court right now.

As long as football and baseball are winning, all is right with the world.

McMahon, as of right now, appears to be a bad hire. Also, the contract is very suspect. The part of the fan base, who are Wade loyalists, can’t seem to let it go and irrationally think LSU will somehow rehire him. The product on the court has been abysmal. Every sensible Basketball fan knew this was going to be a rebuild, however, what we’re witnessing, looks like a self-imposed death penalty. With all this, Woodward needs to answer to the fanbase by at least stating his current position on the state of the program and his vision regarding it’s future.
