'Diversity is our strength' poison pill

I'm trying to answer a family member who is liberal and supportive of leftist causes, but not due to the typical reasons of leftists - ie envy, seeing world as oppressor vs oppressed, or just being a complete loser. Instead his view is derived from his interpretation of the intent of the country - a beacon for all, etc.
I don't think this is what the Founding Fathers intended. They'd roll in their graves if they saw what is happening here and in Europe. Best I can come up with is John Adams - “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” And this is already a strong argument. It informs us that you must have a consensus on 'right vs wrong' if you expect a Constitutional Republic to work out. Also I don't think freedom of religion was an open endorsement that diluting say Europe with Muslims was advisable, and so I think that concept gets overused. (Funny, those who do that don't get so excited about the rest of 1A or 2A at all).
At some point the poison pill of 'diversity is our strength' entered our consciousness and I don't think the FF's believed our strength was diversity. So I'm looking for more historical evidence to prove this. Thanks in advance

Could not be further from the truth.
Equal opportunity would be better suited bc the strong hands prevail and the weak hands get shaken out regardless of color and socioeconomic background. Building a team should consist of the brightest minds, not a rainbow of colors.

Fully agree from a practical standpoint. But specifically looking for consensus among the Founding Fathers in order to demonstrate that the 'diversity is our strength' is not an original pillar of this country. I have no doubt it is there, just can't pinpoint exactly

If America commits suicide, there will be no more beacon.
The world will default back to a collection of authoritarian nations with no American exceptionalism as a model.

Agree. This stuff isn't even up for debate for rational people.
But a decent amount of the people support leftist policies not because they're leftist but because they believe the country is destined to dilute the culture down the same way Europe is. And so they see the Democrats shifting the electorate via the open border as good because "America is supposed to welcome immigrants from all over". I'm trying to refute those people specifically who are blindly overlooking the problems due to a sense of destiny the country has.

I’ll expand upon that. This isn’t a cynical “we’re fricked the dems are evil” statement: Democrats only care about diversity on the surface, skin color, gender, sexual orientation. Diversity is irrelevant at that point. What is detrimental is assuming different skin color means diversity of ideas or background. I’m a white guy and I have infinitely more in common with Tim Scott, culturally, than I do with an average white guy from Denmark. Democrats will not see it that way. It’s all about color.
Diversity of ideas is a strength. Diversity of values is a weakness. We’re in a culture where we’re force fed these ideas that all cultures are beautiful and should be maintained no matter what country they don’t assimilate to, that’s when problems arise. We’ve been told “America is a melting pot” but with no assimilation it turns into a salad and if it sits long enough it starts to taste really bad.

Being Diverse is what America is all about, a melting pot of diverse cultures, races and and ideas that’s what makes America great not the anti culture, anti race mixing or conservative ideas sorry those are only washed up conservative idea of what America was

To come and take part in the American dream, not bring your own ideological baggage or freeloading tendencies with you.
EDIT: If the dangers of the 2 aforementioned issues aren't obvious to the person you're speaking with, you're likely starting from a point that's too far from where they're at to get through to them and are probably better off just ending the discussion.

The United States has imported all of their problems throughout history.

Extremely wise words. When the "majority" is Atheist in some capacity, neither the color nor the ethnic background of the constituents will matter; the Nation is doomed.

Putting the emphasis on our differences has been our downfall, just as the Marxists intended.

“Diversity of what?”
And then ask for the list of countries demonstrating this.

Looking around NYC's diversity, it is clear that some cultural groups build success and others do not. Some people turn old and run-down neighborhoods into thriving places with low crime, higher home prices and better schools.
Others, do not.
Merit should be the only basis for immigration.

'Diversity is our strength'
If what they claim to desire is diversity of ideas and opinions, with the internet and today's technology, you don't need to be in physical proximity to others to get that.
No, it's just destruction of western culture and identity.

Growing up, they put our parish's gifted program at the lowest performing school to bring up the average leap score.
The teachers repeated this exact phrase as an unofficial school motto.
The goal was brainwash the smart kids into feeling guilty for not wanting to be there.

Diversity brings everyone down to the lowest common denominator. KJP a prime example, dumb as hair

Absolute and total baloney as it presumes assimilation by those entering, to include some of those already here.
When we no longer continue to laud differences around nationalities; ethnicity, gender, sexual preference and race with senseless celebrations and set aside events then we have hope. Until then, it is all about the intentional divide by and for who benefit - politicians, race hustlers, and the organizations which flourish accordingly
