We are planning on staying at the Royal St. Charles for the Sugar Bowl. Your input and suggestions would be appreciated thanks

Hey houndstooth, congrats on your great season and what looks like a Sugar Bowl Berth.

If any of your friends still need hotel accomodations, here are a couple of links you may want to share. (First one has a map, too)

I had a really bad experience at the Royal St. Charles. I went to get some ice and there was a huge puddle of blood by the ice machine. There was a trail of blood going down the steps like someone had been dragged down. I'm not joking at all.

Better than tripping over a bullet-riddled corpse which has been dumped in front of your dental school as you walk to class.

If you can, eat at Dragos in the Riverside Hilton and get the chargrilled oysters.

Make sure you drink a hand grenade from tropical isle. Also, get a hurricane from Pat O's

I'll second the congrats on a great season.

I'll also second Drago's for the oysters. Acme is good for fried seafood or raw oysters. For higher end restaurants, Mr. B's, The Bourbon House or K=Paul's can't be beat.

And yeah, you "got your shoes on your feet" is always a classic.

Houndstooth,

Just read in another thread that you've never been to New Orleans. Another must do...ride the street car the entire length. Great way to see some beautiful homes.
