FSU obviously deserved to be there. It would have been the right thing to do. As a fan that just wants to watch a competitive football game I’m glad they didn’t make it.

What about going into the swamp and beating a rival by double digits with a 2nd string QB
Bama played at their rival and needed a miracle
But I guess in 8 days they are the top 4 team

That's the more interesting question.
The Kentucky loss was brutal for FSU. Louisville was now looked upon as a bit of a fraud. Not a very relevant competitor for FSU to make a bigger impression on the committee.
So then they needed to impress with an offensive performance to rid the committee of their concerns moving forward about FSU. They clearly failed in that regard.

It’s almost impossible to tell. All anyone knows is the first thing that committee watched after Bama ended Georgia’s 29 game win streak was the first half of FSU/Louisville. I’m not sure the second half even mattered.

Without their QB, fsu would struggle to be a top ten team. They would have been slaughtered by any of the teams in the playoffs. Best for football that fsu was not chosen. Ga lost by a FG hitting the crossbar. Ala and Ga are the two best teams in the country, and I think Bama will win beating Tx in the final. Very very lucky season for Bama. Aub win was way beyond lucky.

The selection committee wasn’t going to screw Daddy Dick Saban twice.. they would have all lost their place on the committee if that would have happened

I hear you but the truth is Florida wasn’t any good this year and it was a lost season at that point. Like I said, FL St deserved to be in the playoff but I have no interest in watching them get their doors blown off in the playoffs. I know we lost to them and it wasn’t Jayden’s best game but can you imagine us playing them again at the end of the season? Our defense was shite either way but our offense was way more explosive to end the season. I think we’d beat Florida State if we played again (with Jordan Travis) and I don’t think we’re in one of the four best teams. It’s all subjective so expanding the playoff is the only answer. Before NIL and the never ending portal, there were really only 2 maybe 3 teams a year that could legit win it all. Now more like 6-8.

Truth be told most of us are not pissed over who got left out, but rather who got in. The disdain for all things Alabama runs deep.
