They never offered Robinson the DC position, he could have been the highest paid position coach in FBS but wanted to be a coordinator thus the move. Guess we'll see how things shake out in the next couple of years moving forward, I give props to Elko for not taking the easy route and giving Robinson the position, he clearly has a plan moving forward that didn't align with Robinson's vision.

If this is the staff Elko is building, I think in the scuttled Stoops hire would have been the better choice..
Outside of Klein, which I still feel is a weird fit more than anything else, I am just not seeing the level of coaching and recruiting talent I would have expected for A&M to be bringing in. Elko just doesn't seem to have the connections to build the dynamic level staff a team like A&M should be able to build.
In some ways this parallels to the bad hires Texas made with Herman and Strong and how bad those staffs were. There is no excuse with the resources Texas or A&M have to not have a staff full of guys that people either recognize the name as a solid long-term coach or a major up-and-comer.
