Aggie messed up their hire

Stoops would have been better. I mean coaches in the SEC and has done some good things at Kentucky. Don't know why Aggie thought he was not good enough.
They settled with Elko. I wonder if they ever approached Jonathan Smith and Smith thought the MSU job was better given how goofy Aggie is? If they did not make a serious offer to Smith they really screwed up. MSU talked to both and they went and got Smith before Aggie could do anything.

Elko is a much better choice than Stoops.

Elko doesn't talk anymore, he do

They both overachieved at basketball schools. Elko has the added benefit of being familiar with A&M's antics so it shouldn't phase him. Now we'll get to see if he can do something with added resources at his disposal.

I think Stoops need Texas AM more than they needed him.

Just came here to say I can't believe Stoops makes $9 million a year.

Stoops was the perfect hire from a historical A&M stand point. A coach with moderate success and a wealth of experience that's looking to find out if they still have the drive to succeed but ultimately find out they just don't want to, taking a giant bag of a payout into retirement.

I honestly don’t care who A&M hires as their head coach. Any SEC team can beat anyone any Saturday so it doesn’t change how LSU prepares on a weekly basis during the season. Let them do what they want with who they want. I actually welcome a stronger conference.

Stoops hasn't done squat, the East has been way down for the last decade which is the only reason his record is respectable even at a BB school. He has just 2 wins over SEC teams that finished better than .500, hell that is worse than Jimbo and he was in the west. Not sure how he is getting paid 9 million a year but good on him for getting it.
