NYPD officers resign in unprecedented numbers amid cancelation of next five Police Academy classes
The number of cops quitting before they reach the 20 years required to receive their full pensions also skyrocketed from 509 in 2020 to 1,040 so far this year — an alarming 104% increase, the data show.
The years of departures and lack of replacements are now taking a toll, forcing the cops who remain on the job to work “inhumane amounts of forced overtime,” Police Benevolent Association President Patrick Hendry said.

Mayor Eric Adams’ administration is planning to cut the NYPD’s next police academy class as part of a sweeping reduction in the city budget caused primarily by the multi-billion-dollar migrant crisis.
The axing of the new recruits — which will be officially announced Thursday along with numerous other budget cuts — will decimate an already strained department, the New York Post reports

Really mind blowing.
Keep cutting police force directly amd indirectly and then wonder why your tax base leaves because crime goes through the roof.
Go woke, get jacked.
I wish one of the libs on here would explain how this is good policy

Why didn't the powers that be draw up a budget to see if they could afford a slew of migrants before they put out the welcome mat at the southern border?
And why didn't the powers that be use funds for the citizens entrusted to them instead of taking it from citizens to use it for people who have no claim on it?
Frick these lefty idiots, either they are imprudent and can't plan nor draw up a budget.
OR
They're trying to wreck the country.

They won’t need any new replacement cops, all those migrants are going to all be peaceful model citizens even after they run out of free hotel rooms and free thanksgiving dinners.

Wonder how much money the city could have saved if it hadn't paid for free turkeys for the 1000's of illegal immigrants?

Yeah, sure you have.
By the way, the population of NYC is over double the population of Los Angeles.
