I know Scott McDonald loves ULM as much as anyone could, so it surprised me that he didn't stay as the athletic director longer than he did.

Back before the school moved to FBS, it could be competitive, drew nice crowds, even won a national championship. Now, it's tough to draw much support when there's really no chance to win anything.

My first fall there was ‘91; those next few years were great. Good tailgating, fun teams to watch, and good crowds that were into it.
Fast forward 8-10 years and i lm sitting in the stands and could count the fans on the home side at the end of a bad season and losing to Wofford. I know money is the driving factor but really messed up a good thing.
