Went to the Tech-Miami game a few years ago. No problems but traffic after the game was as bad as LSU.

Should move the Independence Bowl to the new Cajun Field in 2025.

I would take the Tabasco Bowl or Tony Chachere's bowl

Tailgaiting at the Indy bowl is actually pretty good. People hate Shreveport, but the Indy Bowl has been a pretty good time for a while now.
I love the hate Shreveport gets on here but people will champion for how great Baton Rouge and New Orleans are like its some safe haven

The ‘97 Independence Bowl was one of the most miserable football going experiences I’ve ever had. It was soooooo fricking cold and rainy and the wind was just ripping us at the top of the South end zone as we stood there underdressed. But we were young and drunk and LSU was playing Notre Dame, so we were stay until the very end. Thanks Rondell. Good times.
A few years later (NYE 2000), I was living in Baton Rouge, but home for the holidays and staying in Monroe with a few friends. Had plans to meet up with some girls at Havana in Shreveport later that night. I was the 1st one out of the shower and buttoning up my shirt in the living room and switched on the Indy Bowl. 2 dark maroon teams in Mississippi State and A&M, and I literally only see white. “Hey guys, remember how we were supposed to be driving to Shreveport in just a little bit. Uh, yeah….” Still have no idea how they could see to play that game in that kind of snow. M
But back to the topic, I lived in Shreveport for 5-6 years as an adult, and wouldn’t have a problem taking my kids to the Indy Bowl unless it was like a 9 pm kick or something. I lived in South Shreveport and Bossier and never witnessed any crime. I know a lot existed/exists, but very much like Baton Rouge, it’s pretty easy to avoid.
Granted, just north of I-20, where the Independence Bowl actually is, is typically one of those places to try to avoid, but during the day and walking in a group and being in a crowd, I’d feel safe. As is just good safety practice always, just be aware of your surroundings and keep your head on a swivel, and you’ll be fine.
Btw, any idea of who might get matched up yet? I figure the best conference championships won’t affect this game’s participants too much.

Frick that.
Either Bourque’s Boudin Bowl or Billy’s Boudin Bowl.

Yea that is one thing that puts a damper on it it seems like almost half the time. It has had some bad luck with weather. If it's cold and windy, i ain't going.

I've lived in Bossier/Benton my whole life and never worried about crime. Shreveport is obviously worse but never to the point where I was legit worried about it or joke that someone needs to wear a bullet proof vest. The Indy Bowl area definitely isn't the best part of town, but also the Indy Bowl isn't going to be an event that is going to bring out the stragglers.

Just looked and a few sites have Texas Tech vs Cal predicted. Not too bad.
