They are very generic, over priced electric cars with poor range. They are Chinese owned. I don’t know why anyone would get one over a Tesla. Nice interior maybe but that’s subjective.

You are correct. I would say the look better than a Tesla, but that's subjective

First, I very much agree with not buying products that feed China and for that reason I would not buy a current Volvo.

That being said the big advantage Polestar has over Tesla is fit and finish. Polestars look and feel like they were made by a large entry-luxury car maker, Teslas do not. They also feel more like and ICE car inside the cabin which some people might like but they have less space as a result. As a driving appliance, Tesla makes a better car. As for the exterior looks I like the Polestar better because they have a more coherent design to my eye. Tesla has yet to hit the design mark for me except the pre-production ideas for the Roadster which they still have plenty of time to frick up.

This raises a good question: Why would you buy a specific up-market brand of electric car??? We buy Mercedes, Porsche, and BMW because they have a perceived expertise and competitive edge building well-engineered high performance cars.

Now we have electric cars, which nobody knows dick about making, and people are gladly handing over 100k+ for these German luxury electric cars. Why?

If your neighbor knows much about cars, they aren't impressed, they probably think you're dumb.

If I were to buy an electric car (and I'm not), I'd buy in this order:

1. Tesla - the technology and manufacturing leader
2. Ford - maybe second place to Tesla in experience
3. Toyota - everthing they make is solid

But jokes on us, as Ford and Toyota are scaling back EV as they just don't make money. Akio Toyoda has famously said he doesn't see the EV making sense any time soon.

But we all know that, and we all know if you really want to help the environments, you drive a Corolla instead of a SUV (that you totes need) and you stop buying endless disposable crap from Amazon/Walmart/China that rides over here on ships that are not at all pollution controlled.
