Obligatory should we post? I’m about over the Blake Grupe situation but I’m not sure York would be better. I think both kickers have the yips because York has the talent to be a top 5 kicker in the NFL and he’s got a huge leg. Grupe has immense talent as well and for a small guy had 55-57 yard range on his kicks but I think both guys are in their own heads too much. Still I would love to see York in a Saints uniform and he figure out his issues and becomes a top player at his position for years.

So two teams have now gotten rid of him and you’re asking should we pick him up?

No I wouldn’t I would give Grupe one more week but if he shanks another one he’s done.

I don’t think he ever attempted a kick for the Giants.

I wouldn’t write off Cade York or even Grupe for that matter. They are both obviously very talented but just going through a rut (although I generally trust York more since I’ve watched him kick clutch kicks at LSU). Both of them can turn it around, just need to learn to deal with the pressure and get consistent

That being said, if you can’t trust them, then they shouldn’t be kicking in games for you. But as someone on the practice squad, why not have him to challenge Grupe

Ex LSU player released. Pick him up or the saints hate LSU players.

By that logic you'd pass on Koo.

Not saying York is the answer but sticking with someone that misses a kick a game doesnt seem great either.

Go look at the top 10 kickers and about 6 of them have been some teams cast off

Grupe seems steadier lately, I'd keep him and pray he's past the growing pains

York was great at LSU, but he’s been horrible in the pros. His ball has too much movement and he misses in both directions. I don’t think he’s worth a look tbh and I love my LSU players for the most part.

I’d have to guess he has more leg than that.
