Meanwhile, traditional Northern football states like Pennsylvania, which has long sent young men to heralded northern programs like Penn State, Notre Dame and Ohio State and has stocked the NFL for decades, are falling behind. Today there are 45% more native Louisianans (64) than Pennsylvanians (44) in the NFL, even though Louisiana has only one-third of Pennsylvania's population.

"Half the people in that stadium can't spell LSU," says political consultant James Carville, an LSU alumnus. "It doesn't matter. They identify with it. It's culturally such a big deal."

That tells you what a piece of shite sellout Carville is. Anybody that would talk about his home state and the south like that is a fricking joke.

People here loved his rant about USC and the Pac 10 and about blowing up the Rose bowl.

I love how all the people that were quoted were from the north - talking about why things are the way they are. Like they know since they grew up in the south...idiots.

which one of those best describes carville's comment? you LSU people need so much help

not all but majority of tulane students = out of staters, so carville being at tulane does not make him anymore "louisiana"

I think he means that in the South a lot of the fans are not graduates of the university.

exactly! 1/2 the peeps at UT can't spell UT if you spotted the both the U & the T.
Plus if you've ever ventured into Gumpville, more than 1/2 don't even know what a university is
