Don’t disagree but secondary is a pretty scary situation right now. I think that might be the highest priority based on what I’ve seen on the field unless I’m misreading the context.

What is really concerning is we have guys behind Guillory and Smith but they must really be a long way from playing if he’s concerned about their size. Man our defensive talent really went into the shitter.

When Kelly built LSU’s great offense he started with the Oline. And it has been impressive. Now to build a great defense, he is starting with the Dline. Of course more pieces are needed, elite play at linebacker and elite coaching on defense. It’s happening.

I think secondary is in a better position than DL. JK Johnson will be back next year along with Zy Alexander. Throw in Toviano and were pretty solid. A good pass rush/penetration can make mediocre CBs great...

I think you are (missing the context).

Secondary has been a portal target the past 2 years. Usually your portal guy is a plug-and-play starter for a season.
I think we have good young players in the pipeline, and won't need to keep slapping bandaids there like we've been doing. It's scary right now, because we went heavy portal the last 2 years for starters; and year 2 wasn't the quality year 1 was.

I think we're a bit light in the defensive line interior, especially as far as rotation. Maybe a year away from the young guys being ready to step in. That's what he's addressing.

I think we might take a BPA, but most of the positions are starting to fill in.
I'm curious to see what type of influx we get from A&M in the offseason.

Doesn’t scare me a bit. I like where we are. Zy Alexander was good, although it took him a few games to adjust to the competition. Toviano, Stamps and Hughes are coming along, and we get JK Johnson back, who started for Ohio State. And we add three freshmen for depth and development.

Safety looks like it’s in good hands. Major Burns took a lot of heat on here, but I think he played well. Yaites is going to be great.

The secondary is not going to be great, but it will be good next season.
