I wouldn't complain about 1 or 2. Just be glad you don't live next to the neighborhood cat lady that feeds them in the alley or something like that. Thankfully, I don't either, but I see the posts on FB looking for food, shelter, adoptions, donations for fixing, etc. There's one woman that I bet feeds 50+ cats, and has managed to procure shelters of styrofoam ice chests and plastic storage bins, she got some astroturf to help cover the dirt/mud, and now she's working on tarps to help keep the wind/weather out this winter.
I'm not in favor of killing cats just for population control, but I also have ZERO desire to live next door to an informal feline rescue.

My neighbor and I have a deal..She feeds the strays and I give them the Ruger Express.
What she don't know won't hurt her

Guilty! But my neighbor feeds them as well.
But we have opossums, raccoons, and skunks in the neighborhood.
And all of the cats are rescues. My brother lives across the street and he has some rescuses (his daughter has 3 kittens she trapped) and the neighbor 2 doors down is a vet.
Our cats are cool!
My Lolo is NOT allowed outside...she is a rescue too. Picked her up off the shoulder of I-10 when she was 6 weeks old...she is now 8 years old.

We have damn near that very scenario in our neighborhood. Cat Momma goes everyday to a convience store and feeds a whole tribe of stray cats. No telling how much $$ she spends a week feeding them.
