He's an improved Marcus Mariota.

It’s RGIII, I think he cut down on running after his injury. He had a game his freshman year where he ran for 200+ and his Heisman year he had a game where he had more passing TDs than incompletions.

I hate this comparison because I despise Cam, but it's the right answer. Only difference is size.

Bottom line on JD5 is that if he were 30 pounds heavier he'd be in discussion as a top 5 pick in draft. I'd think that's GM's biggest concern is he'll get pummeled by the big boys. IMO, one thing he needs to improve is his short endzone fade pass. Needs to throw it higher and softer. I'd think that is totally learnable though.

This is the closest comparison. JD5 is the better passer but Petrino’s system and the competition he faced allowed Lamar to have similar success through the air.

Their fluid running styles are very similar, but no one has made it look easier than JD except maybe Vince Young.

We’ve been so fortunate to watch this guy play for the past two seasons and it’s crazy how many people didn’t appreciate him all along.

He will be invited to New York and although he probably won’t win because the DAC is a joke, he will likely add another O’Brien or Unitas Award or both to the LSU Trophy case

To me the question is not his running, but will he be able to read defenses at the next level. If so, I thin he has a successful NFL career. NFL QBs do not last long who believe they can run as they did in college. If he learns when to run and when to get down, he should be fine on that account.

He’s better than Jackson, RGIII and Vick. It’s not particularly close.
