Yep.

My wife teaches in a clinical field and was out in private practice for about a decade before teaching at the university, so she's got a real-life perspective. Most of them don't. Some of the stuff she comes home and tells me leaves me amazed that academic institutions survive year to year. They do some of the dumbest stuff imaginable.

Have you seen academia lately? Large black women with HR certificates in positions of power based on diversity and zero qualifications. A recent, now fired, VP at my college nearly bankrupted our campus with her “progressive ideas”.
