This is my point. Im not saying they are scrubs but they are not top 25 level. So thats why we are losing against top opponents. Simple.

Here’s the thing though, no one is asking them to be a top 25 defense.

Heck, a top 75 defense would have given us at least one extra win (Ole Piss), if not two - although the offense hadn't found it's footing yet against FSU and Bama playing dirty (with help from the zebras) was probably unbeatable.

Bruh, if you rewatched it and still didn’t recognize how poor the defensive coaching was, maybe football is too complicated for you.

It is mostly on House but ultimately on BK. Teams with less talent played better defense against Bama.

I agree with you, in principal but I think its noy just coaching but the players as well. It's more of a combination of issues. I don't think the players believe in the scheme or the gameplans. I say that because it seems as if there are too many plays where they are doing their own thing instead of playing sound football. Their containment and gap integrity's so bad because they desperately are trying to make plays instead of trusting the scheme and trusting each other. I also get the feeling Maason Smith is just kind of going through the motions and not playing with intensity because he doesn't want to get injured again. This coaching staff usually has bad gameplans for meaningful games and have shown no real ability to adjust in-game. BK will need to be paired with a competent DC and will also need a veteran team of players. I say that because when I listen to him, he seems to rely on the senior players to be mature enough to insist the younger guys to stay focused.

On a side note, as fans, we've been wanting more 5 star talent to commit to LSU. Those guys typically feel they are good enough to play anywhere. We desperately need defensive recruits but it's kind of difficult to convince them to come here when our D looks so incompetent. A good defense requires good to elite d-linemen, LB's, and a secondary. If you're not solid at all three levels, it'll affect how players at other levels look. Right now, I see it being substantially difficult to get highly recruited guys on defense with the product we've put on the field.

We don’t have the dogs on defense.

Knew we’d lose before we played.
