Matt House had a successful defense last year

Did you attend the games or actually watch last year?
If it was't for Perkins going off against Arkansas and Ole miss last year we would have lost those games. That wasn't much coaching in that scheme. Tenn blew us out at HOME

At the most it was an Average defense. That comes to a
(C) grade. "C grade defense is not nearly good enough at LSU

One of the adjustments against Ole Miss was using Perk on the edge. Yes, it worked and an ignorant fan could say it was not coaching just perk.

Against Arkansas they were playing a running QB and we used Perk the same way we did against Bama and it was highly successful. The offense was the issue that game.

Mississippi state, Auburn, and Bama all had good defensive game plans/adjustments that led to shutting down their attack at different points of the game.

The main difference between last year and this year is the transfer portal DBs were a productive last year and this year the DBs taken in the transfer portal have been a disappointment.

From where the defense was in 2020-2021 the defense in 2022 was greatly improved. We would not have won the games against Auburn, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Arkansas, or Bama if not for the defensive performance. The first half against Bama was the entire reason we won that game.

Wow good job. You chose a game where the entire team played like dog shite from the start and place the blame on the defense. House has been terrible this year but that doesn't change the fact that last year the team won 10 games in large part to the second half emergence of Daniels and the defensive unit.

He will not be retained and the next DC will have their work cut out for them but people need to be truthful about where this team was when this staff was hired and not be ignorant thinking we had a good defense when they were brought in.
