That would be a hell of a choice. Will also likely last much longer than you.
DD is top tier and they are typically very very accurate for combat style barrels.
If you have the $$ to swing the M4 RIII then go for it. Otherwise a DDM4V7 is cheaper and still just as good for the common shooter.

It really depends on what you want to use it for.
Me personally, I would rather spend less on a PSA that does everything I want it to do and have extra money for upgrades and ammo.

The RIS III doesn’t make sense to me. It’s a big/beefier version of the v7 mlok rail. It’s going to be heavy as hell. I’d just get a DDM4v7.

That’s nice, but like I said it depends on what you use it for. I’ve always found that I like some magnification on my AR. But if I do use them it’s usually for hunting.
You won’t be disappointed with a DD… but if all you want to do is shoot a few targets and hogs, you might realize that you could have gotten everything you needed for a whole lot cheaper.
ETA: A cheaper rifle will free up money for the suppressor That will make it really fun.

This is what I literally just did. PSA PA-15 M4 Carbine with 16” Nit barrel and magpul furniture. FDE
Just sighted in the iron sights this morning and I was hitting the metal 6 inch plate from 50 yards
Adding on has been fun. Down the road I’ll upgrade the trigger and charger, maybe the bolt

Is it even worth it to suppress a 5.56?

Yes. Once you go suppressed, you'll never go back.

A lot of ppl start off by buying the cheapest rifle they can from PSA, BCA, etc, Then ultimately sink hundreds and hundreds more into it by replacing all the parts that came on it instead of just buying a BCM or something similar in the first place that had all the high quality parts and QC to begin with.

Maybe so, but all I’ve done to mine is swap springs and add optics. But I’m a light AR user.

Not always.
What parts exactly are they replacing compared to buying a complete BCM?
Barrel and bolt carrier group maybe. Maybe at best

Because the parts don’t work or because they join some gun forums and everybody tells them their hardware just doesn’t have enough Tier 1 mojo?

It's inevitable. It's like a disease. It's viral and it's gone from the ridiculous to the sublime.
In the meantime there are smart men out there who have enough base model M4s and/or various iterations there-of that ... well, they could outfit a platoon.
There is a rule ... one is none and two is one.
Put enough high pressure rounds through anything and it will eventually fail. If you have two ... then the other one goes into action. When that one fails you combine parts from the two and turn them back into one.
Now, if you have twenty .... not only might you outfit your immediate family and closest friends but you'll have spares. Entire muzzle to bullplate replacement parts kits.
Anyways, rant off.
Also, I despise the big AR gun board because it is just as you describe it to be. A lot of poseurs playing soldier.

Bro, I’m doing this as a new hobby because I like to shoot. Not trying to arm my neighbors. If shite ever hits the fan it’s literally a roll of the dice whether you’ll live or die.

Didn't Rand Corp or some similar think tank do a study once and calculated that like 60% of the population would die within 2-4wks if it ever does get apocalyptic... and the only ppl that will survive are either those with end of days underground bunkers or incredibly in-shape former military/survivalist types.

It’s your money your decision. Just do the research and make the decision. You can’t go wrong with the DD. They produce high quality AR’s.
