it’s evil to charge extra cheese on cheesy fries bc how do you know how much I put on in the first place, but you did ask for extra

You're dense that you can't understand the basic concept of why restaurants charge a fee to split a plate in a, typically, higher end restaurant.

For instance, the place we're going that has the $10 fee, entrees will be $50+ a plate. If I go with my fiance and we split an entree, they're losing out on a good chunk of revenue there by us splitting a $50+ steak instead of paying $100+ for two entrees.

That said, I think it's silly that the restaurant in the OP does it because it's like a local Cracker Barrel. But I understand why other restaurants do it.

Imagine serving Sysco corn nuggets and sweet potato waffle fries and charging a $50 fee for loud kids

Following this logic, I guess we should have to order a whole bottle of wine since they'd miss out on revenue of we only drank tea.

Sure. I'm dense because I don't agree with minimum purchase amounts when I go out to eat

They probably don’t even use it. It’s just on the menu as a deterrent.

I get it, though. I have a bunch of kids- most restaurants charge us the 20% gratuity. So we just don’t go anywhere.

I'm not calling out this restaurant specifically, and I'm not saying that I think that restaurants want to do this, but restaurant prices across the board are just insane right now. I guess prices for everything are insane right now.
