like I said, you clearly don't have kids. A 2 year old, like in the story, has absolutely no concept of mortality. None. They will not understand the concept that a gun can kill you either.

i have a 12 yr old boy.
i have a 14 yr old girl.
I could leave a fully loaded pistol on my kitchen counter and have ZERO worries about the safety of my kids. ZERO. I've already taught my daughter where i have a pistol or two stashed loaded in the house. My 12 yr old doesn't know some of my secret spots but he knows to be around them like it ain't a thang and knows chances are good there may be a pistol often times in my nightstand. I had loaded guns on my counter around him for a long time.

This was prob about 2 months ago, maybe 7 weeks ago. I go outside and this big arse armadillo is tearing up my yard. I run in, get my gun out of the safe, load it, and go back outside. The fricker was gone. Now the gun sits by the back door loaded but not chambered ready to go. I just haven't seen it again.

Both my kids were potty trained before they were 2
They also weren’t tall enough to reach the guns or strong enough to open the drawer/cabinets.
But they were definitely old enough to watch daddy shoot a gun and how to safely handle a gun and that they were not allowed to touch the gun

its the other people yapping about safety of all kids no matters the age is what is being argued. Gun on the counter safety is the easiest when the kid is 2 yrs old or under. Whatever happened was beyond blatant stupidity.

I think we’re focusing on the wrong thing. I think most people ought to be able to agree that you shouldn’t leave a loaded gun our where a two year old can get it. I personally don’t keep any in the chamber, but I agree they should be easily accessible in order to be an effective home defense tool. I also have no issue with loaded guns being in the hands of children that have been properly trained to use and respect them. A two year old can’t do that. I got a Marlin .22lr for my 9th birthday and I’ve never treated anything with such care.

shite like this is why I don’t have a problem with abortions. Kid shoulda never been born. He probably knew he had no chance at life and purposely pulled the trigger. The sad part is he didn’t take out the sperm donor
