My AC guy told me the same thing. He saw I had a pleated filter and he asked me" Do you sleep with your head under a blanket?". He said it made your unit work much harder. Buy spun fiberglass and keep them changed.

Women insist baws buy ULTIMATE POWER MERV 33,000 filters. You should only buy filters for your unit that match the recommended MERV rating. If it's MERV11, buy MERV11.
